Jokotifa,

What a profoundly moving and insightful piece! I absolutely love the concept of having a "funeral for a career." It makes so much sense—why reserve such a transformative and emotionally useful ceremony only for the loss of a person? It sounds like your event was the perfect expression of the human desire to honor, reflect, and connect. I can only imagine how incredible it must have felt to receive the "gift of knowing" your true impact after so many years. Hearing that people cried, laughed, and truly understood why a funeral was needed perfectly validates your belief in these occasions as the "human soup that makes life worth living."

Thank you for sharing your experience!!!!!

It was such a moving experience. I cried 100%! You made a difference in the lives of those you worked with, for, and those you managed! Your influence will spread 10 fold, and what is more beautiful than that. Than love! You are a gift.
